Eid al-Adha 2021 will be celebrated on July 21 across India. This was announced a few weeks ago by Islamic organizations in the country. Eid ul-Adha is the second major Islamic holiday after Eid al-Fitr (or Eid al-Fitr) celebrated by Muslims. The holiday is also known as Bakra Eid, Bakrid, Eid al-Adha, Eid Kurban or Kurban Bayarami. While Miti Eid marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan, Bakri Eid concludes the annual Hajj pilgrimage undertaken by Islamic devotees.
Festival Eid
Bakra Eid is celebrated after ten days of moon sighting. And this year, in the month of Dhul-Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic or lunar calendar, the Moon was sighted on Sunday evening, July 12. Therefore, on July 21, Kurban Bayram will be celebrated in India. The day of Arafah or the Muslim pilgrimage (Hajj) began on the evening of July 18 and ends on the evening of July 19. On July 20, Kurban Bayram will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and London. and North America. India usually celebrates the two holidays of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha, one day after Saudi Arabia.

According to Islamic beliefs, the history of that time begins when Abraham or Prophet Ibrahim kept having a dream about killing his beloved son Ishmael to fulfill God's will. Ibrahim knew it was a command from God, and he told his son about the dream. He explained how God wanted him to offer the sacrifice and Ishmael, who was the same man of God, agreed with his father and asked him to fulfill Allah's wish. Shaitan (devil) tempted Ibrahim and tried to dissuade him from offering the sacrifice, but he avoided it by stoning him.
Allah saw the absolute devotion of Ibrahim and sent the Archangel Jibril (Angel Gabriel) who led the sheep to the slaughter. Jibril told Ibrahim that God was pleased with his devotion to him and sent sheep to the slaughter instead of his son. Since then, the sacrifice of a cow has been a major part of the Eid al-Adha celebration.
While the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah is celebrated as the day of Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage, the tenth day is celebrated as Eid-ul-Adha, which is also known as Bakra-Eid. Eid-ul-Adha commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's total devotion to Allah.
Muslims around the world offer the Eid al-Adha prayer in the mosque after the sun has fully risen and just before the time of Zuhr (the time of the noon prayer) arrives. The prayer is accompanied by the imam's sermon or khutba. The celebrations that follow include delicious food, giving charity to the poor, and sharing joy with family, relatives, neighbors, and friends. the main holidays celebrated by Muslims around the world. In the United States, Eid al-Fitr 2022 begins on the evening of Sunday, May 1 and ends on the evening of Monday, May 2.

Also known as "Little Eid", Eid al-Fitr commemorates the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The occasion for special prayers, family visits, gifts and charity lasts from one to three days, beginning on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar.
Although some Muslims observe other special days throughout the year, including the start of the new year in the Islamic calendar and the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, the two Eids are the only holidays celebrated by all Muslims worldwide. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of fasting in Ramadan, while Eid al-Adha ("Feast of the Sacrifice") occurs at the end of the annual pilgrimage season.
The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar in which dates are calculated based on the phases of the moon, and each new month begins when a crescent moon appears in the sky. Because the 12-month lunar year is about 11 days shorter than the solar Gregorian calendar (the 365-day calendar used in the Western world), Islamic months and holidays fall into different seasons depending on the year.
During the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Ramadan, almost all Muslims are required to fast from dawn to dusk and abstain from smoking, drinking (including water) and sexual activity during daylight hours. Ramadan is the month in which Prophet Muhammad received the teachings of the Qur'an, the holy book of Islam, as a guide for mankind and a means of judging between right and wrong. Fasting during Ramadan, known as Sawm, is one of the Five Pillars, the core principles that are essential to the Islamic faith.
Bakra Eid 2021 Will Be Celebrated On July 21; History And Significance Of The Festival
According to the lunar calendar, Ramadan and other months fall at different times of the year depending on the year. Throughout their lives, Muslims around the world have the opportunity to fast during the long days of summer, the short days of winter, and everything in between.
As with the pilgrimage, fasting during Ramadan takes people out of their normal way of life and requires them to solemnly reflect and examine. The feeling of hunger and thirst should increase people's awareness of the suffering of the poor and gain a greater appreciation for what they have.

After a month of prayer, devotion and self-restraint, Muslims celebrate the fulfillment of their sacred duties during Ramadan with the start of Eid al-Fitr, or the Festival of Breaking the Fast. This holiday is national in many countries with a large Muslim population. The celebration of Kurban Bayram usually lasts for three days, one day less than the holiday of Kurban Bayram. That is why Eid al-Fitr is often called "Malim" or "Little Eid". Eid al-Adha, known as the Great Eid, is considered the most important of the two holidays.

During Eid al-Fitr, Muslims participate in special morning prayers, greet each other with formal hugs, and express the greeting of "Eid Mubarak" or "Blessed Eid." They gather with family and friends, give children toys and gifts, and prepare and eat special foods, including sweet dishes such as baklava or lokum in Turkey, date cakes and cookies in Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and bint al-san (honey pie). ) in Yemen.
Another of the five pillars of Islam is zakat, or giving to the needy. Muslims often prepare for Eid al-Fitr by giving money to charity so that less fortunate families can also enjoy the holiday. In addition to charity, Muslims are also encouraged to give and seek forgiveness during Eid al-Fitr, and look forward to fasting again during Ramadan next year.
The second major holiday in the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha, occurs at the end of the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage of millions of Muslims to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. According to the Quran, Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) was ready to sacrifice his son to God (Allah), but God accepted the sacrifice of an animal instead. Kurban Bayram, or the Feast of Sacrifice, commemorates Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son for God.
The celebration of the holiday usually lasts four days and is similar to the Eid al-Fitr holiday, except that Muslims celebrate Kurban Bayram, traditionally recognizing the possibility of sacrificing an animal for meat. The meat is then shared with family and friends, with much of it given to the less fortunate.
